Same as Fig. 2, but for NGC 1278. In order to highlight the kinematic structures, the colour scales differ from those in Fig. 2. In this case, the top-row isophotes are based on an HST F850LP image, which is the one used for the MGE modelling detailed in Sect. 3.2. Since for this galaxy V ≪ σ, the Vrms map is virtually identical to the σ map.
