Table 3
Mean gas surface density, stellar variability, and incidence of ambient material.
| Region | ⟨Σgas⟩YSO (M⊙ pc−2) | ∆V (mag) | fambient |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taurus | 108.0 | 0.7 | 28% |
| Ophiuchus | 105.4 ± 41.0 | 0.3 | 16% |
| Corona Australis | 92.3 ± 12.0 | 1.0 | 58% |
| Upper Scorpius | 85.2 ± 22.0 | 0.3 | 8% |
| Chamaeleon | 84.1 ± 10.6 | 0.4 | 11% |
| Lupus | 62.5 ± 12.5 | 0.5 | 13% |
Notes. Columns are region, mean gas surface density Σgas per YSO, stellar variability, and fraction of sources with ambient emission. Σgas is based on the findings of Heiderman et al. (2010), weighted by number of YSOs in each subregion (a total of 148 in Tau, 290 in Oph, 41 in CrA, 117 in Cha, 10 in Upper Sco, 181 in Lup). Uncertainties are propagated from the reported Σgas errors where available (not reported for Taurus). Regions are sorted by Σgas.
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
