Median FUV flux as a function of the estimated age of the regions. Each dot represents a star-forming region in this work and is colour-coded based on the median dust disc mass available for the sample of discs. NGC 1977 and 25 Ori are not included because they lack dust disc mass measurements. The FUV flux presented for NGC 2024 is evaluated using Method 2 (Sect. 4.2).
