Three-colour near-infrared image of Arp 220 obtained by combining NIRSpec narrow-band images tracing the continuum emission at ∼1 μm (blue), 3 μm (green), and 5 μm (red). The positions of the W and E nuclei are marked with crosses and match those of the nuclear parsec-scale disks observed in the millimeter with ALMA (Scoville et al. 2017). The box-circle symbol marks the position of the NE cluster. The cyan diamond indicates a region with fast multi-phase outflows (see Sect. 5.3). The NIRSpec angular resolution is of ∼2 − 3 spaxels (0.1−0.15″) in FWHM.
