Superposed phase spiral for different azimuths with Gaia DR3 data. We select only stars with LZ ∈ [ − 2100, −1800]. We use bins of Δϕ = 4deg and centres of bins separated by the same amount, from ϕ = −20deg (bluer lines) to ϕ = 20deg (redder lines), as indicted in the legend. In parenthesis, we give the average azimuth of the selection, which can differ by 1deg compared to the centre of the selection in some cases. We used σ = 3.5 for the edge detector.
