Distribution functions of the components Bx, By, and Bz of a model magnetic field B = B0 + Bt built on a grid 120 × 120 × 120 pixels using Eq. (8) with βA = 5, and a mean, large-scale magnetic field B0 defined by the angles χ0 = 0° and γ0 = 60°, and a norm B0 = 50 μG such that the fluctuation level is yB = 0.1. The vertical lines represent the projected values of the large scale magnetic field B0x = B0 sinχ0 cosγ0, B0y = −B0 cosχ0 cosγ0 and B0z = B0 sinγ0. See Fig. 14 in Planck Collaboration Int. XX (2015) for the definition of angles.
