Loop system at the periphery of the active region. This shows the 103′′ × 103′′ region indicated by the square in Fig. 1. The left panel shows the Hi-C observation (1000 × 1000 pixels), the right displays the data in the same wavelength channel (193 Å) recoded by AIA (173 × 173 pixels). The AIA image is spatially aligned with the Hi-C image and was taken at roughly the same time. The two squares here indicate regions that are magnified in Figs. 4 and 6 and that are located in areas dominated by a plage region and a loop system.
