The northern peak is indicated with N, and southern with S. The exact positions of the peaks are: RA = 16h28m293, Dec =  − 24°19′03″ (J2000) for the northern and RA = 16h28m288, Dec =  − 24°19 ′23″ for the southern peak.

The sum of peak optical thicknesses of all (1, 1) hyperfine components. This is twice the “main group opacity” used in many papers.
