The Maunder minimum (1645-1715) was indeed a grand minimum: A reassessment of multiple datasets

Grand minima of solar activity can have a significant impact on Earth's climate. The most recent case is the Maunder minimum that lasted from 1645 to 1715. However, some arguments have been presented that during the Maunder minimum, the Sun might still have been moderately active. This new study combines perhaps the best, and most complete, data yet on the Maunder Minimum and discusses its consequences in light of modern data.
