LOFAR Tied-array imaging and spectroscopy of solar S bursts

by D. E. Morosan, P. T. Gallagher, P. Zucca, et al., A&A 580, A65

This study demonstrates the strengths of the LOFAR radio array for studies of the Sun. The authors report polarized short-lived radio bursts that for the first time have been investigated through imaging and spectroscopy. The data indicate that these bursts are found in tarns-equatorial loop systems interconnecting active regions on the northern and southern hemispheres.
