Map of the σMAD of RRM for various H I column density and Hα intensity cutoffs for the total clean sample with and without Mg II absorbers. For each cutoff in both axes, a minimum of 100 Mg II sightlines is required, leading to missing pixels at low Hα and H I. The vertical green and horizontal blue lines mark the thresholds NHI = 3.5 × 1020 cm−2 and Hα = 1.0 R, respectively.
