Mock images of Sombrero-like galaxies from the TNG50 simulations at z = 0, created using the GALAXEV code. We present four galaxy examples (ID = 572840, 455292, 522530, 513105), where kinematically defined stellar halos account for 30–60% of their total stellar mass (∼1010.6 M⊙). Unlike observed Sombrero galaxies, the simulated Sombrero-like galaxies can be viewed at the same inclination angles. From top to bottom, the rows correspond to galaxy inclination angles of 0 deg (face-on), 45 deg, and 90 deg (edge-on), with each image showing a field of view set to 7.5 times the half-mass radius from the galaxy center.
