Projection of the COBE/DIRBE band 1 map with a central wavelength at 1.25 μm toward the ecliptic north pole. The red markers indicate the coordinates for our pointings, the HDF, and the COSMOS field. The Milky Way crosses the map horizontally, while ZL in the ecliptic plane appears as a ring between declinations δ = [−30, 30].
