MeerKAT L-band data mosaic of five pointings covering M 87 and moving towards the north-east. These fields were used as a pilot experiment to derive a good calibration strategy. The dynamic range limitation due to the presence of the bright radio emission from M 87 is evident in the increased rms noise in the pointings where the source is within the primary beam.
