AFP substructures. A central spike is seen only in CV MV Lyr during the high state. If a false spike due to Poisson noise appears, it is on top of the real central spike and confuses the maximum flux (dotted red line). When no real spike is present, the false spike can appear on top of the main flare, as in Fig. 3 (dotted black line).
