The σ(O/H) is the standard deviation of the Δ(O/H) distribution, with Δ(O/H) being the difference between the indirect metallicity estimate obtained by using our strong-line diagnostic calibrations and the metallicity estimate expected from the metallicity gradients at the given distance.
