Scale factor of the model as a function of phase angle θϕ. The scale factor is equivalent to the axis ratio of the phase spiral. The scale factor shows a peak at around θϕ = 175°. The points contained by the red ellipse are off the apparent sequence, and it is unclear whether to attribute them to difficulties fitting the phase spirals in that region or a genuine increase in scale factor.
