Horizontal maps of clouds at a pressure of 25 mbars. The top panel displays the Na2S cloud distribution while the bottom panel displays the KCl distribution. Due to the lower condensation temperature of KCl , we only observe its formation on the night-side polar vortices whilst Na2S uniformly forms at latitudes higher than ± 40° on the nightside, and at higher latitudes on the dayside.
