2D histogram plot of the Besançon simulation in galactic coordinates. It is complete down to HE < 26, yielding a total of 3 billion stars. This simulation excludes ~10 deg2 of the much denser galactic plane, even the reference survey described in Euclid Collaboration: (2022b) describes a more complex and restrictive exclusion of the galactic plane.
