ROC AUC improvements and relative gains of MLCCS for a range of α values. The scale factors of α = [2,5,11, 21, 67] (from left to right), were selected to illustrate that MLCCS offers a smaller improvement relative to S/N for very small α (extreme noise) and very large α (extreme signal). The scaling factor a is inversely proportional to the strength of the noise.
