Baroclinicity (s−2) at 1221 yr after the transition of the first core into a rotationally supported disc resulting from a 1 M pre-stellar core collapse. The infalling envelope has been masked to highlight the baroclinic contribution in generating vortical flows within the disc. The gas velocity streamlines indicate the material falling onto the disc and the circulation within.
