Offset between the coordinates in the eSASS detection chain (RA, Dec) and the coordinates after post-processing of the data by MBProj2D (RA_XFIT, DEC_XFIT), shown on the left panel, have a small median value of 7.7″. The tail of the distribution is due to the split extended sources in the eSASS catalog, cleaned carefully in this work. The offset between the coordinates indicated by the MBProj2D and the BCG coordinates reported in Kluge et al. (2024) are presented on the right panel. The median offset between the X-ray center and BCG is 179 kpc for the full sample and 127 kpc after applying the selection PBCG > 0.7 to the sample, selecting secure BCGs. Large offset values are an indicator of the merger status of clusters.
