Comparison of the calculated f_esc(LyC) using the relation from Choustikov et al. (2024) with the observed f_esc(Lyα) (left, with the one-to-one relation shown as the dashed line) and Lyα velocity offset (right) for LAEs. With the exception of two LAEs from Tang et al. (2023), the f_esc(LyC) we infer is always lower than f_esc(Lyα), consistent with model predictions (e.g. Maji et al. 2022). Interestingly, one of our faint LAEs has f_esc(LyC) > 0.2. We find that qualitatively, f_esc(LyC) and Lyα velocity offset anti-correlate, but a low Lyα velocity offset does not necessarily guarantee high f_esc(LyC). Similar trends were reported for low redshift LyC leaking galaxies by Izotov et al. (2021).
