Distribution of the ALPAKA galaxies and samples of local and high-z galaxies from the literature (e.g., Liu et al. 2015; Silverman et al. 2018; Valentino et al. 2020; Boogaard et al. 2020; Birkin et al. 2021) in the emission line-infrared luminosity planes. The ALPAKA galaxies typically cover the bright part of the distributions, especially for high-J transitions, as spatially resolved ALMA observations are feasible only for very luminous galaxies.
