The number of satellites in orbit is taken is from Union of Concerned Scientists (2022), but this only extends to April 2022. As such, we augment this data with the number of Starlink, OneWeb and E-Space launches since then (according to McDowell 2023) as an approximate lower limit for the total number in orbit.
