Sagnac correction, Eq. (48), for an isothermal atmosphere and its deviation from a vacuum value denoted as effect of the atmosphere as functions of the satellite zenith angle θ. Separate plots for θ ∊ [0°, 80º] (left) and θ ∊ [80°, 90º] (right) are presented to show details of the effect of the atmosphere curve, which grows steeply for θ approaching 90°. The example was evaluated for ground-to-satellite transfer in the equatorial plane, with rA = 6371 km, rB − rA = 408 km, and inclined against the rotation of the Earth.
