Close-up of the Spiderweb Galaxy (90 × 70 arcsec by side) at full angular resolution, in the soft (0.5–2 keV, left) and hard (2–7 keV, right) band. Extended emission is clearly visible in both bands. Red contours show radio emission observed in the 10 GHz band with the JVLA (see Carilli et al. 2022) at levels of 0.03, 0.2, 2 and 20 mJy beam−1. It is possible to appreciate the larger background in the hard band, and the enhancement of the diffuse emission along the radio jets. Also, the extended emission appear to be stronger and more isotropic in the soft band. Blue circles correspond to X-ray emitting, spectroscopically confirmed members, while red circles to spectroscopically confirmed members with no X-ray emission (see Tozzi et al. 2022).
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
