Comparison of Te derived from the charge-exchange method, with Te([N ii]), derived from auroral line detections, for Η ii regions in the PHANGS-MUSE sample. For the charge-exchange method, we use the parametrization of fion derived from Cloudy models (Equation 17). We find systematically larger scatter (~1000 K) compared to the relation in Figure 7, where fion was empirically calibrated. The scatter is still larger, even when we only consider younger (higher EW(Hα)) Η ii regions.
