Sample of SERRA galaxies adopted in this work. For each galaxy we plot the stellar surface density (Σ⋆, upper panels) and the [C II] line surface brightness (Σ[CII], lower panels) for an inclination of 60 degrees. The field of view has a size of 8 kpc. See Table 1 for the main properties of the galaxies.
