Importance of the different PV parameters for the disk/merger classification. The fractional importance is computed for the different parameters (definitions in Sect. 7.1) by constructing a decision tree classifier to distinguish between disks and mergers. The decision tree uses our sample of 84 galaxies with different resolutions and S/N, using 70% (30%) of the data for training (testing), resulting in a R² score of 84%.
