Cosmological slice showing the distribution of HECATE galaxies in the eFEDS field (black points). The eFEDS-HECATE matches are subdivided into early-type (red plusses) and late-type (blue diamonds) galaxies, which have been classified solely based on a cut in specific SFR (sSFR), and does not necessarily indicate the nature of the X-ray source emission (e.g. normal star-forming or elliptical galaxy, AGN). Those matches without an estimate of sSFR are shown as green crosses.
