Oxygen abundance gradient as a function of the stellar mass and the gradient of the D(4000) index for abundances derived from either the R calibration (top panel) or using the HCM method (bottom panel). We show median O/H gradients with 2σ CI in each mass bin for two sub-samples of galaxies with negative (black) and positive (red) gradient of D(4000).
