Application of getsf to the APEX λ = 350 μm image (8″ resolution) of the NGC 6334 star-forming cloud, adopting {X|Y}_λ = 30″. The top row shows the original image ℐ_​λ and the backgrounds ℬ_λ{X|Y} of sources and filaments. The middle row shows the component 𝒮_λ, the footprint ellipses of 91 acceptably good sources on 𝒮_λD, and the component ℱ_λD with 26 skeletons 𝒦_k2 corresponding to the scales S_​k ≈ 30″. The bottom row shows the standard deviations 𝒰_λ in the regularized component 𝒮_λR, the flattening image 𝒬_λ, and the standard deviations in the flattened component . Some skeletons may only appear to have branches because they were widened for this presentation. Intensities (in MJy sr⁻¹) are limited in range with logarithmic color mapping, except for 𝒬_λ, which is shown with linear mapping.
