Table 5.

Kinematics and morphology of the kinematically-defined components of the ionised gas.

Component Typical V Typical σ Morphology
(km s−1) (km s−1)
Disc −60 ≲ V ≲ 60 σ ≲ 100 Butterfly pattern. The central 1″ is blueshifted with respect to the systemic velocity of the galaxy as deduced from the kinematics at larger radii.

Blueshifted narrow −200 ≲ V ≲ −50 50 ≲ σ ≲ 200 Runs from the galactic nucleus towards the north-west to the edge of the field of view at ∼3″ (∼900 pc).
Zero-velocity narrow −100 ≲ V ≲ 0 100 ≲ σ ≲ 250 A patch of this component seems to correlate with the north-eastern spiral arm. The other patches correlate with the UCNR.
Crescent narrow 0 ≲ V ≲ 300 100 ≲ σ ≲ 250 Redshifted component with an inward-pointing crescent shape (∼200 pc) west of the nucleus.
Redshifted narrow 1 100 ≲ V ≲ 300 50 ≲ σ ≲ 200 Found up to ∼1″ (∼300 pc) north and south of the nucleus.
Redshifted narrow 2 500 ≲ V ≲ 800 σ ≲ 200 Found up to ∼1″ (∼300 pc) north and south of the nucleus.

Blueshifted broad −600 ≲ V ≲ −100 250 ≲ σ ≲ 500 Centred in the nucleus and elongated in the south-east to north-west direction with a width of 3″ − 4″ (900 pc–1200 pc).
Zero-velocity broad −200 ≲ V ≲ 200 250 ≲ σ ≲ 600 Found around the nucleus with an extension towards the south.
Redshifted broad 800 ≲ V ≲ 1300 200 ≲ σ ≲ 500 Found south of the nucleus in a blob (∼150 pc) across.
