Top: mean tangential/cross ellipticity as a function of satellite distance from the group’s BGG, obtained using satellite shape – BGG position pairs, binned in the group’s M200. The best fit power-law with a fixed slope is overplotted for each mass bin. The grey area covers the radial bins over which we regard the BGG light correction to be too significant, and these scales are not used for our model fitting. Shapes were measured in r-band for rwf = riso. Bottom: amplitude of the power-law fit to the alignment signal for each individual group mass bin.
