Left panel: XMM-Newton EPIC count-rate image (MOS and pn mosaic) of the southwestern limb of SN 1006 in the 2−4.5 keV band. The regions selected for the spectral analysis of the rim performed in Paper I are superimposed. Central panel: synthetic synchrotron emission at 3 keV at t = 1000 yr derived from model RUN2_G (see Table 1).
