This extended component separates in the two components VLA 1 and VLA 2 in the C-band image reconstructed with a smaller beam, used to determine the continuum spectral index.

The component #1 corresponds to the compact source, named G097.53+3.18-M, associated with the water masers, while the component #2 refers to the UC Hii region G097.53+3.18-Hii (see Fig. 9).

The flux and size correspond to the compact source embedded in the fainter and extended (slightly filtered out) emission (see Fig. 9, bottom panel).
