Table 1
Properties of the three microquasars GRO 1655-40, GRS 1915+105, and XTE 1550-564.
Source | νL [Hz] | νU [Hz] | Mass [M⊙] | a |
GRO 1655-40 | 300 | 450 | 6.0–6.6 a | 0.96–0.99 |

GRS 1915+105 | 113 | 168 | 10.0–18.0 b | 0.68–0.99 |
XTE 1550-564 | 184 | 276 | 8.4–10.8 | 0.89–0.99 |
Notes. The individual columns display the frequencies of the lower and upper QPO peaks (Strohmayer 2001a,b; Remillard et al. 2002, 2003), the mass estimates (Greene et al. 2001; Greiner et al. 2001; Orosz et al. 2002; McClintock & Remillard 2006), and the spin values inferred from the epicyclic resonance model assuming a geodesic accretion flow.
Alternative predictions of the black hole mass in GRO 1655-40 are 5.1−5.7M⊙ (Beer & Podsiadlowski 2002) and 5.8−6.8M⊙ (Greene et al. 2001).
For GRS 1915+105, Reid et al. (2014) have recently obtained a tighter mass estimate, 10.6 − 14.4M⊙, based on a trigonometric parallax measurement of the distance (see also Steeghs et al. 2013).
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
