A break down of the collisional outcomes observed in this study.
Collisional outcome | Number of collisions

Target at 90° | Suitable for analysis | 35 |
Residual acceleration | 1
Poor quality | 4 | |
Fragmentation | 1 | |

Target at 60° | Suitable for analysis | 8 |
Residual acceleration | 41
Poor quality | 5 | |
Fragmentation | 0 | |

No target | Suitable for analysis | 15 |
Residual acceleration | 3
Poor quality | 7 | |
Fragmentation | 0 | |

Total | 120 |
Notes. The angles refer to the angle between the target surface and the direction of travel of the particles. The collisions that were suitable for analysis are detailed in Sect. 4.1. The other collisions were excluded from the analysis due to residual acceleration (poor quality of microgravity), poor image quality and fragmentation.
