The Hα image has been taken with the Blanco 4-m telescope and have a pixel size of 0.27′′ × 0.27′′ (no continuum has been subtracted). The ellipses (“S1” and “S2”) mark faint filaments (see Sect. 6.1 for details). The green circle (“C”) shows an unrelated compact H ii region, and the cyan circle (“A”, left image) marks the background AGN detected in X-rays and in the mid-IR.
