Mock images of the galaxies. Face- and edge-on views are separated by dashed lines, images are created by combining SDSS g, r and i filters and are each 50 × 50 kpc2 in size. Simulation outputs at z = 0 are used for all galaxies except Castor and Eos where the galaxies are shown at z ≃ 0.03.
