Second ROSAT all-sky survey (2RXS) source catalogue

Max-Planck-Institut scientists have updated and improved the source catalog related to the mother of all X-ray sky surveys: the ROSAT all-sky survey. In this new version of the source catalog (Second ROSAT all-sky survey, 2RXS) the authors adopted a number of improvements, paying particular care to the reduction of spurious sources. The final catalog results in about 135,000 X-ray sources, thereby providing the deepest all-sky survey. For each source new data products, including spectra and light curves, were created, allowing the astrophysical community to take full advantage of this catalog for new scientific explorations.
