This article reports the detection of a ring nebula around the yellow hypergiant Hen 3-1379. The authors argue that the star is now evolving towards a luminous blue variable (LBV) phase and that the nebula was ejected during a red supergiant (RSG) phase. This provides direct evidence that ring nebulae around LBVs can be ejected during the RSG phase.
