alpha Centauri A in the far infrared - First measurement of the temperature minimum of a star other than the Sun
Chromospheres and coronae are common phenomena on solar-type stars, but direct study of these atmospheric structures has been limited to the Sun thus far. The authors report the first direct determination, from far-infrared measurements of alpha Centauri, of the temperature minimum between photosphere and chromosphere in a star other than our Sun.
