HYPERION: An open-source parallelized three-dimensional dust continuum radiative transfer code

The paper presents the details of a new open-source Fortran/Python Monte Carlo radiative transfer code for dust spectral energy distribution and multi-band image synthesis in a range of geometries. The code includes modules for mesh-refinement methods to extend the resolution, pre-tabulated opacities and emissivities - including very small grains and PAHs, and accelerated propagation using a minimized random walk lgorithm. A range of options permits both complex structures and source distributions to be specified. The code is modular and extendable. Comparisons with other published codes are included, as are several benchmark examples for complex geometries.
