In the thin-disk case, the relevant vertical scale is the disk half-thickness h_d, whereas in the thick-disk case the radial parameter shown is the inner disk radius R_d,in, as defined in Fig. 1. The thin-disk model yields only modest blocking when h_d < R_ph, while the thick-disk model shows rapid changes in ℬ as θ_in approaches and exceeds the critical angle θ_cr.
