(a) Phase diagram of the revised AQUA with the numbered EoS sources listed in Table 1. Symbols show the simulation results from Mazevet et al. (2019) and French et al. (2016) used in each of the two new regions, 7 and 5, respectively. Region 7, Mazevet et al. (2019, 2021), is shown in purple and region 5, French et al. (2016), in pink. The grey shaded areas show interpolation regions. The green region denotes an area where data from region 3 were linearly extrapolated. Negative or out-of-bounds entropies are shown by the hatched area. The vertical dotted line at 2 · 104 K shows the temperature limit above which region 6 data are extrapolated in both the original and the revised AQUA. The phase boundary between regions 7 and 5 was obtained from Fig. 1 in Redmer et al. (2011) and Fig. 4 in F16. The small boundary between region 5 and region 3 was also taken from F16, marking the boundary between SI water and ice. The dashed line indicating the phase transition from liquid to SI regime in region 7 was taken from F16 up to 1013 Pa and from M19 for higher pressures. (b) High-P, high-T region showing the entire set of pressure and temperature simulation points of F16 in the SI regime (blue and cyan diamonds) and from Mazevet et al. (2019, 2021) in the liquid, SI regimes, and based on Thomas-Fermi data (circles and squares). The black solid lines show EoS boundaries from Hal20 except those around the new region where French et al. (2016) data have been used (see main text for details).
