Plane of the orbit. The axis x is defined by the intersection of the plane of the orbit and the plane of the sky. The periastron is at an angle φ0 from the x axis; φ is the angle between the x axis and the position on the orbit; ψ is the angle between the x axis and the velocity vector v. The angle between the position and velocity vectors is γ3D.
