Schematic view of the model used in Sect. 4.2 to reproduce the high, 23% continuum linear polarization degree attributed to the central SMBH. The image is not to scale and only meant to represent the geometry of the various components of the system. It includes a central SMBH and a disk-like accretion structure from which emerges powerful winds through radiation and line pressure; θ represents the outflowing angle of the wind and dθ its half-opening angle. Along the equatorial plane are also the region responsible for the emission of the broad lines (the BLR) and the torus. See the text for details and the geometrical parametrization of the components.
