Comparison of our 5 ≤ z < 6 F356W star-forming size–mass relation with three simulations: THESAN (Shen et al. 2024a), IllustrisTNG (Costantin et al. 2023) and ASTRID (LaChance et al. 2024). The observations and simulations align between 9 ≤ log(M*/M) < 10 but diverge at log(M*/M) > 10, due to the compact high-mass galaxies in simulations.
